5 Tips For Turning Your Idea Into A Business

Do you have an idea that you want to cultivate and turn into a business? Have you been working on starting up your own business? Whether you have started or are getting ready to start turning your idea into a business, there are a few tips that I want to pass on to you that can be very helpful.

The business tips are below:

  • Think outside of the box when turning your idea into a business. Allow yourself to take calculated chances.
  • Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Learn from them and keep going.
  • Be open to advice from industry experts who can help you develop your business.
  • Always research the industry that you want to start a business in.
  • If you can’t start with a support team, include in your strategy plan to gradually bring on a support team. They don’t have to be employees. You can create a support team of contractors.

As you incorporate these tips into the process of turning your idea into a business, be confident in the choices you make. If you feel that you need help with developing your idea into a business, checkout the YPB Huddle Groups.

Watch the video below to see how two college students turned their idea into a business called “College Hunks Hauling Junk”. This is a 4-year old business that has already developed 24 franchises with a goal of 30 by the end of 2009.

Your Business Champions

As you access your ability and mindset for starting your own business, make sure that you have a business champion to cheer you on. A business champion is someone who will support you as you develop your business. He or she will always have an encouraging word and will give you constructive criticism that will help you grow your business.

Examples of business champions would be people who you feel comfortable talking to about your dreams or hopes of starting your own business. Keep in mind that not everyone will understand your desire to start your own business and leave the 9 to 5 business world. Just make sure that you will be able to make a commitment to staying on task and on target.

Your business champion can also be someone who mentors you in a specific area, such as finance, marketing or business development. To help you choose a mentor, I’ve include a video below that featured Jack Canfield sharing keys points that you should keep in mind when selecting a mentor.

Having The Right Business Attitude

congrats-two-people2As you manage your business, having the right attitude is important. Having the right attitude can help you get through a difficult situation such as dealing with an upset client. A right attitude means that you keep negative thoughts, actions and speech away from you when dealing with difficult situations.

For example, if you have a virtual assistance business and one of your clients decides that he or she does not  like the work that you have preformed for him or her, what do you do? What will your attitude be in handling this difficult situation? Having a good attitude means that you don’t get upset and say something that you might regret. You should keep a level head and deal with this client from the standpoint that you are willing to work things through.
