Eric Goldstein, Founder and CEO of Amplify.com, will be the special guest on Your Passionate Business Blog Talk radio show on Thursday, August 12 at 8 PM Eastern.  Amplify.com is the social media service that makes it easy for people to spark conversation about news, thoughts, ideas, photos or anything else that’s on their mind. Using social media in your business is becoming a daily requirement to grow your business. In order to do this, time and effort is required on the part of the business owner to implement a website social media plan that is effective. Although it may require a lot of time in the beginning to setup the plan, once the plan is in place, it can become part of your daily routine.

Recently, Jerrilynn Thomas interviewed Kim Beasley on their co-hosted show, Reinvent Your Business on the BlogTalkRadio network. Jerrilynn put Kim on the hot seat regarding social media and how business owners can use it to grow their business.

One of the questions asked was, “What is social media and why should a business owner implement it?”

Did you know that February 1 – 5, 2010, is International Networking Week? As a business owner, I want to encourage you to spend time this week to network with others via social media websites. In doing this, you just might find new clients, new business associates or even potential joint venture business owners.

I had been waiting with anticipation to receive my Google Wave invitation from Google. Like many others, the anticipation was almost overwhelming, yet at the same time enjoyable. You see, I love being a Beta tester or someone who test products and services before they hit the market.

Thus when I heard that I could sign-up to receive an invitation to be an “early adapter” of Google Wave, I decided to go ahead and do it. I figured it would be like other times when I had signed up as Beta tester and would hear a response within at least a couple of weeks. Now, a couple of months later, I received my invitation to sign-up for Google Wave. YEAH!

Just to let you know, all of my invitations are already allocated and I don’t have any more to give out. Also, if you want to sign-up for Google Wave, you have to have a Gmail account. With all that said, I found my first experience with Google Wave to be good. Since I just started using it, I’m still learning all of the ins and outs of the web software.

Yet I feel that I’m going to love using Google Wave. One of the things I noticed when I first signed was that a welcome Wave (or message) was waiting to greet me and give me instructions about what to do next. As I start to connect with my family and friends on “the Wave”, I’ll keep sharing about my experiences.
